Willard R. Skidmore

It is with great sadness that we announce the recent passing of Willard R. Skidmore, 83, Air Force veteran of Ocklawaha, Florida. Everyone who knew Willard knew he was a faithful servant of the Lord. On Tuesday morning December 10, 2019, Willard R. Skidmore went home to be with his master.

Willard grew up in Orlando, Florida with his older brother Dick and sisters Carolyn and Joy.  Willard and his sweetheart Joanne moved to Ocklawaha, Florida on November 17, 1972 from Miami. They had four children; Tammy Robinson (Kirk), Vicky Heaton (Rick), Diana Hite (Marshall), and Renix Skidmore (April). They had a humble and beautiful childhood.

Willard was a man of many talents.  He worked on boats, airplanes, and vehicles of all types. He owned his own companies,  the largest and most prestigious company being Skidmore Irrigation. Willard was a collector of many things. He loved flashlights, remote controls, coins, vhs tapes, and marbles.

A devout man of God, Willard knew it was his duty to make sure his family knew and loved the Lord as he did. He took pride in his 8 grandchildren and was also blessed to have 16 great grandchildren. He was such a people person, so friendly and would chat with anyone. He was kind and trusting of everyone he met. As a family we rejoice that he is at rest and no longer suffering from infirmities of this world.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Dementia Society of America https://www.dementiasociety.org/ and/or  Hospice of Marion County https://www.hospiceofmarion.com/.

He is buried in The National Cemetery located in Bushnell Florida,
