William Randolph Horner

William Randolph “Randy” Horner, 76, of Ocklawaha, Florida passed away March 10, 2022, at his home in Ocklawaha, Florida.  He was the husband of Jacqueline “Jackie” Horner, his high school sweetheart, for 56 years.  Their son, Joseph “Joey” Horner, was his pride and joy.

Randy was born in Chicago, Illinois the son of the late William and Lula Horner.

He was a proud Veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Viet Nam war.  Prior to his retirement, he was a Security Officer at United Southern Bank for over 20 years.

Randy enjoyed fishing and their beautiful lake home in the Ocala National Forest.   He was also an avid Florida Gator fan.

Randy is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Horner and his son Joseph Horner; stepmother, Ethel Horner and stepsister Laura Wisecarver; sister, Wilma Longfellow; granddaughters Rachel and Jordan Horner and three great-grandchilden; sister-in-laws Jenifer (Edward) LeVine and Jil Rankin and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents William and Lula Horner; brother Bill Horner; sister Pat Wilcox; stepsister, Earlene Wilder.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, 5946 SE Robinson Road, Belleview, FL 34420 on Sunday, October 2, 2022, at 2pm with Military Honors by the Belleview VFW Post 8083.  A luncheon will be served in the reception room at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services immediately following the service. Betty Jane Fichtner

Betty Jane Fichtner, 93, of Belleview, Florida passed away April 1, 2022, at Ocala Regional Medical Center Ocala, Florida. She was the wife of the late Harold R. Fichtner who preceded her on December 7, 2009.

Betty was born in Steubenville, Ohio, a daughter of the late George and Annie Frey. Prior to her retirement she worked in many varied secretary positions, including Jefferson County Court House, the Village of Stratton, Ohio, and Methodist Church.

Fichtner is survived by daughters, Janice Devore of Belleview, FL, April Fichtner of Belleview, FL, and son, Vaughn Fichtner of Pompano Beach, FL, granddaughter, Kelly Fichtner of South Carolina, and brother, Gary Frey of Westerville, OH and sisters, Lillian Simko of Murrieta, CA. and Shirley Cool of Weirton, WV.

She was preceded in death by her husband and parents and sisters, Mildred Duval, Alberta Miller, Geraldine Schmidt, and Pricilla Campbell, and brothers Roger Frey, Grant Frey, George Frey, and Curtis Frey.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 8, 2022, at 10:00 AM at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. Arrangements entrusted to Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services 5946 SE Robinson Road, Belleview, FL 34420.  Condolences may be left at Hiers-Baxley.com.
