HEDVIKA (Sasina) ZALEWSKI

Hedvika (Sasina) Zalewski,  106 years old, of Belleview, when to see Jesus April 16, 2022. She was born Dec. 13, 1915 in Kopeany, Slovakia.

She came to America in 1930, married Kasper Sasina in 1934. They were married 54 years. They had together 9 children.

She is predeceased by Kasper Sasina, Rosemary Sasina, John Sasina, Jerome Sasian and Richard Sasina. Survivors are: Lillian (Ron) Kaspcsos, Belleview; Rudy (Kathy) Sasina, Ocala, FL; Judy Simon, Cleveland, OH: Gerald (Betty) Sasina, Ocala, FL; Jeannie Sasina, Yulee, Fl and Sister, Mary Michalek, Johnson City, NY; Brother, Ladislav Jakubek, Concord, NC. 31 grandchildren and too many great grandchildren to mention; nieces, nephews also cousins in the Slovak Republic.

Hedvika remarried Zugmunt Zalewski (deceased) 10 yrs.

She was a Catholic ad spent most of her life on a farm raising children. She was the best cook and baker and was a seamstress by trade. She belonged to the Polish Club in Belleview and could Polka your legs off. She did beautiful embroidery and crochet work.

She and Dad traveled all over the U.S. plus going back to her homeland. She lived life to the fullest.

Services will be  held at Roberts Funeral Home on April 28 at 9 am. She will be laid to rest a Good Shepard Cemetery, Airport Rd, Ocala, next to Dad (often called “Cappy” from his friends).

For all that knew her, she will be missed.

FREDERIC “Fred” KURZHALS

With great sadness and true sense of loss we announce the passing of our father Frederic “Fred” Kurzhals, he returned to the Lord on February 10, 2022. Born in Detroit, Michigan on January 13, 1946. Although being from Michigan, he spent half of his life in Florida, a state he loved.

He was a fifty-year Mason. Member of Eastern Star and Former Advisory Board Member for the International Order of Rainbow for Girls and DeMolay. Member of the Loyal Order of Moose, including Administrator of the Ocala Lodge #1014.  Truly embodied a Life of Service.

Fred was a kind and loving man, always willing to help where needed. He enjoyed working in the Culinary industry and was involved with some very notable restaurants and events during his career. Being sort of a character himself, he was best known for colored suits.  Fred enjoyed food of all kinds, but especially ice cream.

His main love was his family.  He was blessed with three children and four grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, and although there being some distance, he loved them all very dearly.

To many he was teacher or was sought out for advice and counsel.

Frederic Marc Kurzhals was predeceased by his wife Darlene “Dar” Kurzhals. Parents Hazen and Virginia Kurzhals. Raised by Frances Bilpo & Freda Higgins. Sisters Jean Bocan and Saundra Tucker.

He is survived by his twin brother Gregory (Laureen) Kurzhals. His children Geoffry, Laural (Michael) and Chandra Kurzhals. Grandchildren Devin Blaine Kurzhals-Hawley, Addison “Addi”, Lyra and Hazen Kurzhals. Great-Grandchild Cora Jean Hawley. Sister and Brother in law’s Linda (Richard) Kendrick, Karen Bourgeois, Roxanna Khula, Paul (Sharon) Berger and Brian (Melissa) Berger.

Celebration of Life to be held at Ocala Moose Lodge 10035 US-441, Belleview Fl 34420 on Saturday, April 23rd, 2022, beginning at 1pm.
