Kayelee Ehrisman Named State FFA President of Florida
With over 20,000 FFA members across the state of Florida, Belleview High School’s very own Kayelee Ehrisman was announced as the 2023-24 State FFA President of Florida.
The Florida FFA Association recently announced the election of the 2023-2024 State FFA Officers. Each year, the delegates at the annual state FFA convention elect a team of student officers to lead the organization for the coming year. Serving as a state officer is a distinguished honor held by only a small group of students. State Officers travel more than 300 days per year visiting more than 70,000 students in nearly 350 FFA chapters throughout Florida.
Ehrisman said she is excited for what the future holds. “Looking into this upcoming year, I am excited to help every FFA member across the state get exposed to all of the opportunities available for them. I want to encourage members to reach their full potential and help equip them with the skills they need to do so,” she explained. “My hope is that I will exceed the expectations of this role. I want to be a positive and influential ambassador for our organization and agriculture industry.”
According to Ehrisman, it is her Christian faith that led her to this achievement. “Above all, I would like to thank God. Having strong Christian morals is the thing that helped me the most throughout this journey,” she stated. “Through Christ I know my worth and capabilities. Prayer was the tool I used during times of worry and self-doubt. God put the perfect people in my path for this journey. He blessed me with knowledge and caring friends and mentors that trained me, prayed for me, and supported me. My mom always reminded me to keep my faith number one, and she was my biggest advocate.”
Ehrisman has many favorite things about the FFA. “There are so many things that make me love FFA. It’s hard to sum it up into one simple answer,” she explained. “FFA cultivates skilled, confident, and passionate students. This generation can’t gain experience and knowledge anywhere else like they can in our organization. Yes regarding agriculture, but also regarding life. I love watching students find their niche and use FFA to showcase it. Florida FFA is so welcoming, helpful, and life-changing. Our FFA blue jacket is truly a special family.”
The officers will represent Florida at the National FFA Convention, attend the American Agriculture Experience and have the opportunity to interact with elected officials and business and industry leaders throughout the country.
