Train strikes 33-year-old man
On Thursday, August 10, at 12:33 p.m., the Ocala Police Department was called to the railroad crossing near the 2000 block of NE 19th Ave., due to a southbound CSX train striking a pedestrian.
Sadly, the 33-year-old man was declared dead at the scene. Ocala Fire Rescue also responded to the scene.
The railroad crossing on NE 19th Ave. is currently blocked and detours are in place.
