American Legion Post 284 Celebrates Back-To-Back State Baseball Champions
On Sunday, August 20, 2023, the men and women of the Al Krietemeyer American Legion Post 284, came together to celebrate the American Legion Baseball team, who won the 2023 State Championships at McCrary Park in Asheboro, NC from Wednesday, August 2 thru Sunday, August 6, 2023 . The team was led to the championship by coach Bob Dobkowski, who was joined by assistant coaches, John Huggins, Jeff Ferell and Zack Bullock.
The Al Krietemeyer American Legion Post 284, prepared everything to make a meal fit for our State champions. The players, the coaches, the families, all enjoyed cheeseburger, hot dogs, baked beans, salad, and much more, perfectly cooked by the proud officers, members, and volunteers. That American Legion Post 284, collected donations and they presented the boys with new uniforms, staying with the teams signature colors, burgundy and gray.
The team presented American Legion Baseball Chairman, Ron Campi, with a bat and ball signed by the entire team, showing their appreciation and thanking him for his efforts. Congratulations to the Al Krietemeyer American Legion, Post 284, Baseball team for 2 consecutive State Championship wins 2022 and 2023!
