The annual Belleview Christmas Parade was Sunday, December 3, 2023 at 2:00 PM. The day started cloudy but cleared for the parade preparations. It was evident, as the parade start time got closer, we were getting rained on, but the spirit of Christmas continued and the show went on, and what a show it was! The parade continued for a full hour (so did the rain) and included local school bands, MCSO, floats, cheerleaders, MCFR, twirlers, hot rods, motorcycles, horses and so much more. The final, and the most highly anticipated guest at the parade, Santa, rode high up on a City Of Belleview truck, along with his bride, Mrs. Clause.

As crowds started to form at the annual Belleview Christmas Parade held last Sunday, it was evident that everyone would get rained on. Never the less, the spirit of Christmas continued and the show went on, and what a show it was. Above, the US Spyder Ryders of Ocala ride their three wheeled motorcycles through the rain shower, while parade spectators hold on to their umbrellas.

Making The Season Bright At Light Up Lake Lillian
The long standing Belleview tradition, Light Up Lake Lillian, brought the community together to celebrate the Christmas season on Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Lake Lillian in Belleview. The fun started at 2:00 PM and continued until 7:00 PM, ending with a countdown to flip the switch and reveal the spectacular lights around the lake. The families and the children especially, enjoyed so many exciting activities, such as an array of Christmas themed Bounce Houses, cookie decorating and face painting. Christmas music was provided by D.J. Wolverine and families could shop from over 50 vendors for Christmas gifts, treats, sweets and grab dinner too, from one of the many food trucks.
The highlight of the day for us Floridians had to be snow and Santa! The snow had so many, that have never seen it, or just miss it, literally dancing.
Light Up Lake Lillian is powered by Gary Yeomans Ford of Ocala & Villages and sponsored by MIDFLORIDA Credit Union, The Church On The Hill, Ellianos Coffee in Belleview and Citizens First Bank.
