The Belleview Rotary Club, along with volunteers from Belleview High Schools Interact Club, the high school division of the Rotary, went Christmas shopping at the Silver Springs Shores Walmart on Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at 6:00 PM. The merry shoppers had 15 families to shop for, which included 62 children, they have added one addition family and 15 more children than last year. Each child will receive $70 in Christmas gifts, which includes some toys and clothing, and each family will receive a gift certificate for their holiday meal.

Funding for this holiday shopping event is provided by the Annual Belleview Rotary Golf Tournament that is held each November and ensures children from local South Marion elementary schools have a very Merry Christmas. This past November marked the 28th Annual Belleview Rotary Golf Tournament.

The need for help around the holidays is staggering, the Rotary members and BHS’s Interact Club wasted no time trying to find the perfect gifts from the list of children whom were handpicked from our community. The Rotary is a global network of 1.4 million neighbors, friends, leaders, and problem-solvers who see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change – across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves.
