Local man arrested for possession of child pornography, other animal sex crimes

A 35-year-old man is behind bars today following an arrest for deeply disturbing charges.

On Thursday, January 11, Marion County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Detective Nick Sutliff arrested 35-year-old Tyler Leigh Seiters for 40 counts of Possession of Child Pornography, 9 counts of Sexual Activity Involving an Animal, and Unlawful Use of a Two-Way Communication Device.

Detective Sutliff received several tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), which indicated that an individual uploaded numerous files of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) to Verizon cloud storage. Through a variety of investigative techniques, Detective Sutliff determined that Seiters was the individual responsible. He then obtained a search warrant which provided the files of CSAM Seiters uploaded and also numerous self-produced files depicting sexual activity with a cat.

During the execution of the search warrant at Seiters’ home, Seiters was interviewed and admitted the photos and videos were his, stating he prefers CSAM depicting “young boys with older women.” When questioned about the photos of the sexual activity with a cat, he stated the cat belongs to his parents. He also informed Detective Sutliff that he had a level of sexual arousal by the warmth of the cat being so close to his genitalia.

Due to the information obtained during the investigation, Seiters was arrested and transported to the Marion County Jail, where he remains on a $111,500 bond.

Due to the nature of these crimes, it is possible that Seiters may have victimized a child or other animals. If you or someone you know was victimized by him, please contact Detective Sutliff at (352) 368-3546.
