Details released of Belleview Subway collision

Belleview Police have released a traffic crash report that outlines the events of last Friday’s early morning accident involving a Ford F-250 and the Belleview Subway restaurant.

According to police, the accident occurred at 2:05 AM and upon arrival, police observed a tan Ford F-250 had collided with the building. The driver of the vehicle, identified as Paul Czarnecki (white male, DOB: 04/30/1960), was reportedly in and out of consciousness and “suffered from a deep gouge from his forehead to the top of his head exposing his skull”.

The traffic crash report also indicates, according to the responding officer, “It should be noted while speaking with the driver of the vehicle I could not detect the odor of intoxicating substances emanating from the driver, or from within the vehicle.” No open containers containing intoxicating beverages were found following a search of the vehicle, and no drugs or drug paraphernalia were discovered either.

One witness to the accident said that she saw the vehicle “accelerate rapidly” before colliding with the side of the building.

Marion County Fire Rescue trauma alerted the driver of the vehicle to Ocala Regional Medical Center.
