Ocala Police release update on Paddock Mall murder case

In a significant update regarding the Paddock Mall homicide case, Ocala Police say that Albert J. Shell Jr. now faces a grand jury indictment on several grave charges. Shell Jr. has been formally charged with premeditated first-degree murder with a firearm, along with two counts of attempted second-degree murder with a firearm. Additionally, he is accused of the possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

The arrest warrant was served to Shell Jr. by Detective Boyer at the Marion County jail, where the suspect is currently in custody.

Amidst the unfolding legal proceedings, a startling revelation emerged about the incident. Initially, reports indicated that a single woman sustained a gunshot wound and was transported to the hospital for medical attention. However, a more in-depth investigation brought to light that a second individual was also inadvertently injured by a stray bullet. Fortunately, the second victim’s injury was minor as they were only grazed, and they did not require hospitalization.
