In a dramatic incident tonight, a vehicle collision led to a rollover with entrapment at the intersection of SE 24th Street and SE 36th Avenue.
Responding promptly to the distress call, Ocala Fire Rescue Engine 2 and Rescue 2 reached the collision scene at 7:45 p.m., a mere two minutes after the initial dispatch. The chaotic scene revealed a white sedan bearing rear-end damage and a red compact SUV precariously resting on its side, with the trapped driver inside.
Emergency crews, swift in their actions, stabilized the overturned red vehicle and initiated the extrication process, diligently preparing the trapped driver for transportation.
Subsequently, the driver was transported to the hospital for medical attention. Fortunately, no other injuries were reported in connection with the collision.
In an orchestrated response, OFR’s Tower 1, Battalion Chief 22, a Safety Officer, and Marion County Fire Rescue also swiftly arrived at the scene, contributing to the coordinated efforts to address the aftermath of the rollover crash.
