Responding to a series of distress calls at 7:04 am on February 22, MCFR units rushed to quell a raging fire engulfing a commercial vehicle situated at 9570 East Highway 40, Silver Springs.

Witnesses reported a concrete truck ablaze, prompting the closure of both eastbound and westbound lanes along East Highway 40. Battalion Chief #2 arrived swiftly at 7:12 am, swiftly followed by crews from MCFR Lynne Fire Station #4. Upon assessment, crews found the truck fully consumed by flames, necessitating the closure of the bridge. Firefighters promptly deployed attack lines to douse the inferno. The response also included Florida Highway Patrol and the Florida Department of Transportation.

FDOT expressed concern over oil spillage on the bridge, with their supervisor assessing the situation on-site. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries, as the truck driver managed to extricate themselves from the vehicle independently.
