Arrest Made in Marion County Road Rage Shooting Case

On Wednesday, March 6, 2024, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) apprehended 43-year-old Dylan Nissan Belleastin for a series of charges, including Shooting a Missile into a Vehicle, Aggravated Assault, Criminal Mischief, and Displaying a Firearm during the Commission of a Felony.

The arrest comes in connection to a troubling road rage incident reported on Sunday, March 3, 2024, at Love’s Travel Stop, located at 7791 NW 47th Avenue, Ocala. Deputy Greer responded to a call regarding shots fired during the altercation. According to the victim, who was driving a semi-truck southbound on Interstate 75, Belleastin initiated the confrontation by throwing a water bottle at his truck. Despite attempts to deescalate, Belleastin persisted, firing multiple shots at the victim’s vehicle.

Further investigation led Deputy Greer to identify Belleastin through dash camera footage retrieved from the suspect’s semi-truck cab. The footage vividly captured Belleastin’s aggressive actions, including shooting at the victim and brandishing a second handgun.

After collaborative efforts between MCSO deputies and United States Marshal Service agents, Belleastin was located and arrested at 655 SW 52nd Avenue in Ocala. He was subsequently transported to the Marion County Jail, where he remains in custody without bond.
