Belleview High School’s Kiley Summerlin, age 17, signed her National Letter of Intent with Stetson University in Deland on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, in the Loft at Belleview High School located at 10400 SE 36th Ave in Belleview. Kiley received a scholarship for Cross Country and plans to become a Pediatric Physical Therapist because it keeps her involved in sports and she adores children.

It will take Kiley 7 years to complete her education, with her college education scheduled to begin this coming August. Kiley was surrounded by her proud parents, Pete and Priscilla Summerlin, with family and friends present to celebrate Kiley’s success. Coach Jason Pfriender spoke of his love for Kiley, stating, “I absolutely love this girl. She worked hard to be one of the best in the county.”

He added, “Kiley is an outstanding athlete, but she is an even better person.” This sentiment was shared throughout the room. Coach Pfriender went on to say, “We will miss her immensely. Stetson is lucky to have her.” Summerlin was All County and All Conference in Athletics as well as Academics and was recognized as a MESPY athlete. Although Kiley received a scholarship for Cross Country, she also excels in Track.
