WATCH: Stolen Bike Bandit’s Bumpy Ride: Great Escape Ends in Wipeout

In a daring nighttime pursuit, a man fled from Marion County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) Deputy Qubaisy on a stolen dirt bike, only to crash into woods at the end of a dead-end road. The incident unfolded on Monday, March 11, 2024, around 9:45 p.m. when Deputy Qubaisy attempted a traffic stop near Oak Road and Hickory Track Road in Ocala.

The driver, identified as Jonathan Johnson, initially slowed down but then accelerated rapidly upon seeing the patrol vehicle’s lights and siren. Johnson’s attempt to evade arrest came to a crashing halt when he reached the dead end of Hickory Track Road.

Despite the dramatic crash, Deputy Qubaisy managed to apprehend Johnson without further trouble. Johnson later confessed to fleeing due to lacking a motorcycle endorsement on his license.

Subsequent investigation revealed that the dirt bike he rode had been reported stolen in a prior MCSO case.

Johnson faces charges including Fleeing to Elude a Law Enforcement Officer, Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle, and Operating a Motorcycle without an Endorsement. He was taken into custody and transported to the Marion County Jail.
