March 11, 2024:

Aggravated Fleeing / Eluding, Drive While License Suspended 3rd or Subsequent

Officer Eckert observed a vehicle exceeding the speed limit on Se Front Rd. The driver, later identified as defendant Jovante Hayes (born November 11, 1993), ignored attempts to pull over, accelerating and running a stop sign. Hayes, with a suspended license and prior convictions for driving while license suspended, was arrested after abandoning his disabled vehicle.

Simple Battery, Resisting an Officer Without Violence

On 3/11/2024, at the 10000 BLK of 55th Ct Ofc. Tyler responded to the location for a reported battery. The caller, Defendant Brian Vansickle (W/M 4/15/60), advised his roommate, the victim, had spit in his face and pushed him during an argument. The victim advised Vansickle had first punched her in the throat. Ofc. Tyler observed injuries that corroborated with the victim’s statement and placed Vansickle under arrest. At that time, Vansickle began pulling away from Ofc. Tyler and refused to walk towards the patrol vehicle, despite several commands to do so. With assistance from MCSO Deputy Demarco, Ofc. Tyler safely secured Vansickle in his patrol vehicle and escorted him to the Marion County Jail without further incident.

Petit Theft

At Mi Pueblo Market (12180 S Us Hwy 441), an unknown perpetrator stole a Motorola smartphone from the bathroom, prompting an ongoing investigation.

March 12, 2024:

Battery

Kenyatta Brown (born March 30, 1984), a former McDonald’s employee, battered a current employee by punching her in the face with a closed fist, leading to a pending active case.

Written Threats to Kill, Simple Assault – Domestic

Ryan Barnes (born May 26, 1986) sent threatening text messages to a victim, resulting in his arrest and transport to Marion County Jail.

False Report of Bomb

An unidentified suspect phoned in a false bomb threat at Zaxby’s (10560 S Us Hwy 441), prompting a search with no suspicious devices found.

March 14, 2024:

Petit Theft

A Race-Trac (5305 SE Abshier Blvd) surveillance footage captured an unknown white male stealing approximately $30USD worth of Slim-Jim jerky sticks, though Race-Trac declined to press charges.

Seized Property

During a traffic stop, Officer Rodriguez detected marijuana in Blake Costello’s (born November 11, 1984) vehicle, leading to a citation for driving infractions and seizure of the marijuana.

Sexual Harassment

Investigation into sexual cyber harassment revealed the defendant’s actions of sending nude pictures of the victim to a third party without consent, with the case remaining active.

Trespass Warning

Magali Jimenez (born August 21, 1986) received a barring notice from Clean Start Coin Laundry (11850 SE Hwy-484) after an incident.

Runaway

A juvenile went missing from their home at 10000 BLK 51ST CT Belleview FL, 34420, prompting an active search and entry into FCIC/NCIC as a missing person.

March 15, 2024:

Burglary Of A Business, Criminal Mischief,

Grand Theft

An unknown suspect forcefully entered a Smoke Shop (5408 SE Abshier Blvd), causing property damage and stealing items worth over $2,000.

Accident Non-Traffic

A minor non-traffic accident occurred at Tidal Wave Car Wash (10170 S US HWY 441), resulting in minimal damage and closure for cleanup.

Marchman Act

A white male was placed under a Marchman Act at WaWa (5726 SE Abshier Blvd) after falling multiple times in the store and outside.

Domestic Battery Simple

Wesley Wise (born February 3, 1988) was arrested for domestic battery after shoving the victim multiple times in front of their children.

Trespass Property Other Than a Structure or Conveyance After Warning

Michael Fletcher (born March 3, 1972) received a Notice To Appear for trespassing in a wooded area.

March 16, 2024:

Petit Theft

$150 was reported stolen from a room at Vin Mar (5018 SE Abshier Blvd).

March 17, 2024:

Burglary, Petit Theft

An unknown person stole propane tanks from Public Storage (4709 SE 102nd PL).

Burglary, Grand Theft

An unknown person stole items from a boat at Public Storage, totaling $1,000.

Criminal Mischief, Disorderly Conduct

At SE Hames Rd. and SE Front Rd., the suspect did commit offenses by stopping another vehicle in traffic and punching the hood and windshield causing property damage. The victim agreed to go into a civil agreement to let suspect pay for damages instead of pressing charges.

Leaving Scene of Crash Involving Damage

An unknown suspect in a white lifted pickup truck collided with a black Ford Edge at SE Hames Rd. and SE Front Rd., then fled the scene, leaving the case active.
